Donna Balson and Tammy Hensrud founded The Feminine Musique in 2008, inspired by the enormous breadth of song literature written by women but widely unknown in the recital repertoire.

Between them, Ms. Balson and Ms. Hensrud have performed in opera, concert and cabaret throughout Europe and the United States, as well as in China, Japan, Africa, the Middle East, New Zealand and Australia.

Credits include the Metropolitan Opera New York, the Vienna State Opera, Stuttgart Opera, Frankfurt Opera, New York City Opera, Spoleto Festival, Festival of Sydney and Opera Australia.

Ms. Hensrud, originally from North Dakota, was trained as a Cellist and Ms. Balson, from Australia, as a pianist. Their combined skills as musicians and performers bring sophisticated versatility to The Feminine Musique.
